Jack's Design Process
I don’t believe in a rigid, one-size-fits-all design framework. I embrace the clever messiness of creative work. This was hard-earned by trial and error.
If I don’t know the problem to solve
Talk to real customers. Exercise high-agency. Be curious. Fight confirmation bias.
If my team is misaligned
Draw a picture. Ask the team: "is this what we are talking about?" Delete the vagueness.
If I know the problem, but need solutions
Take a walk and think clearly. Ideate with my team. Pretend I am helping a friend.
If my team is clear on a solution
Design in high fidelity quickly so we can build and measure success.
Before I ship something to the product
Ask how I will know it was successful.
In every moment
Collaborate in the open, build relationships, ask useful questions, be a craftsman that makes the product more beautiful.
About Me

My name is Jack. I’m a dynamic creative committed to hard work. Right now, I’m based outside of Nashville, Tennessee working on EveryDollar (part of Ramsey Solutions).
I have over 6 years of human-centered digital product experience working on financial products, B2B products, education products, onboarding flows, product emails, design systems and more. I'm not just pushing pixels around, I'm talking to real users and helping businesses decide what to build next.
I got into digital product design by studying industrial design at Auburn University. Through all the product sketching, iteration, 3D modeling, and design critique I discovered how much I loved solving problems for real people and product design is the best way to do that kind of work every day.
